The annual Diocesan Fiscal Management Conference (DFMC) in Chicago was, as always, a great experience. The Serenic staff, which included David Cote, Elizabeth Easter, Rhonda Shuptrine, and Mandy Wier spent two days in the exhibit hall catching up with old friends and meeting new contacts in the Diocesan market.

Diocese and Archdiocese have become one of Serenic’s biggest customer bases.  With clients such as the Archdioceses of Atlanta, Orange County, Los Angeles, the Dioceses of Fargo, Salt Lake City, and Orlando, a number of Catholic Charities, and other Catholic Organizations, Serenic has become a recognized and respected name in the tight knit DFMC community.

One of the reasons that Diocese and Archdiocese flock to Serenic’s product suite is the fully integrated Deposits and Loans functionality with the Serenic Navigator financial management solution. For Catholic organizations with a deposit and loan program for parishes, having a system that is able to handle the intricacies of the relationship is critical.

The Conference wasn’t all work and no play, however.  The Serenic client breakfast provided some time to relax with our clients and the Serenic staff enjoyed some site seeing outside of conference hours.  Perhaps Chicago’s most famous landmark, the Sears Tower (now the Willis Tower), stands tall above the numerous Chicago skyscrapers.  From the Sky Deck, visitors can view the city from 103 floors above the ground and even step on to a glass bottom ledge that juts out over the city more than 1,300 feet above the city.  The views were incredible from the 8^th tallest building in the world – the Chicago River, Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, Lake Michigan, Millennium Park, and other views up to 50 miles from Chicago were breathtaking.

We hope to visit Chicago again soon, and look forward to next year’s DFMC conference in Atlanta.
