One of the questions an outsider looking in might wonder is why a person would purchase a tiny house when for the same money, one could get a full-sized mobile home. You don’t need a headboard or even a frame. If you are using a crawlspace loft, you don’t have room for those things anyway. What you do have room for is a good mattress. And if you don’t have room, make room. A good night’s sleep is one of those things you quite literally can’t live without.

There are plenty of things you can do to design your tiny house bedroom to feel cozy. It does not have to be completely spartan. In fact, there are very good reasons why you want to make sure it isn’t.

A Homey Look and Feel

No one wants to live in something that feels like a refrigerator box. It is easy for a tiny home to look and feel that way if you do not bring your A-game with regard to design and decoration. There are many ways to make your tiny home feel inviting. And it is crucial that you discover and implement them.

When you come home from a hard day’s work, you have to go to a place that feels like home. It has to look like home. It has to smell like home. The food has to taste like home. And if all those TV shows, websites, magazines, and conventions have taught us anything, it is that with a little creativity, you can make any space feel like home. You never want to sacrifice that feeling of home.

The Company of People You Love

Not everyone is the kind of person who likes to be around other people. There is nothing wrong with that. And a tiny house might be perfect for them. But many people thrive on the company of friends and family and guests who just happen to drop by for a visit.

Regardless of any other circumstance that led you to tiny home living, your social preference is not something you can easily change. The good news is that you can have a tiny home that is designed to accommodate guests for the day. There are clever ways to expand your entertaining to the outdoors.

You don’t have to give up having company. But you do have to make it a part of your tiny home design from the beginning. Adding social space is difficult to do after the fact.

So go ahead and practice the art of the possible at the expert level. But don’t compromise on a good night’s sleep, a homey look and feel, and the company of the people you love.
