Apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance at www.disasterassistance.gov

 

Eligible survivors of Hurricane Irma in the state of Florida, can now apply for Fema Disaster Assistance by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov. If your home is either uninhabitable or inaccessible, there is still hope for you, if you can apply for assistance from FEMA.

Furthermore, Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) helps disaster survivors in shelters by transitioning survivors into short-term accommodations.

By visiting www.disasterassistance.gov, disaster survivors can find the list of TSA-approved hotels. Also by dailing FEMA Helpline (1-800-621-3362) you can be assisted with locating a participating property.

Furthermore, Florida residents whose jobs were affected by Hurricane Irma, can also apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance. The application for unemployment benefits can be done online at Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity.

Florida Residents with losses due to Hurricane Irma in following counties may now register for Disaster Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to state and federal officials.

How To Apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance at www.disasterassistance.gov

Before you proceed to apply, you will need to provide the following:

  • Social Security Number
  • Daytime telephone number
  • Current mailing address and address and zip code of the damaged property
  • Private insurance information, if available.

(1). Now visit www.DisasterAssistance.gov to register for federal assistance.

(2). On the homepage, you can look up your address to find out if it is in a disaster area declared for Individual Assistance. You can do that by entering your Address in the box provided and click the look up button.

(3). Check the status of your application and get updates by SMS or email.

(4). Upload documents to support your application.

Also, for those who use 711 relay or VRS, can call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) for FEMA Disaster Assistance. While those who use TTY can call 1-800-462-7585. The toll-free telephone numbers is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. EDT 24/7 until further notice.
