The Highest Paid Jobs of UK

According to the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings by the Office of National Statistics, the average salary in the UK is £33,482.

The data from the ONS is based on a random sample of 1 per cent of all the workers who carry out each occupation, using 2015 to 2016 pay-as-you-earn (PAYE) tax records.

Information about particular roles, such as salaries for television personalities, have been suppressed by the ONS to avoid identifying individual pay packets.

Here are the 10 highest paying job of 2016 in the UK:

 1.    Chief Executives and Senior officials: Even if it’s not a specific profession, they earn the most with an average salary of £85,285 per year. This is an increase of 4 per cent from 2015, according to the data.

 Average weekly salary: £1640.10

 2. Aircraft pilots and flight engineers: Working in the air is well rewarded with pilots having the highest paying jobs. Air traffic controllers are in second place.

 Average weekly salary: £1634

Average annual salary: £84,968

 3. Air traffic controllers: The people in the sky and on the ground are all about safe flying. Everything from engine checks to assuring a safe take offs and landing, this job is highly underrated.

 Average weekly salary: £1539.30

Average annual salary: £80,043

 4. Transport Associate Professional: Transport associate professionals perform a myriad of roles within the transport industry. These roles can be technical or more policy and planning focused roles.

 Average weekly salary: £1452.00

Average annual salary: £75,524

 5. Marketing and Sales Directors: These are the top level decision makers in charge of sales and/or marketing at companies.

 Average weekly salary: £1361.30

 6. Legal professionals

 Average weekly salary: £1328

 7. Information technology (IT) and Telecommunications Directors

Average weekly salary: £1317

 8. Brokers

 9. Senior officers in protective services: These are the top brass in protective services who are all about keeping us safe: These people work in the army, fire services, prison services and ambulance services.

 10. Financial Managers and Directors: These are the people responsible for providing financial guidance and support to clients and colleagues in order to make sound business decisions. They are the financial side of the businesses.
