'Fire On the Hill' & 17 U.S or North American Premieres During DOC NYC: Kicking Offf November 8

DOC NYC is back! Documentaries, long and short are playing in movie houses across New York City starting on November 8th, and running through November 15. DOC NYC showcases both established and upcoming documentarians. Look for memoirs, humor, reportage and more during the event.  You'll find music in the premieres of  16 Bars--featuring Todd Thomas AKA Speech from Arrested Development  and  The 5 Browns: Digging Through the Darkness, the story of 5 piano virtuosos and their family, The Artist and the Pervert--the story of composer Georg Fredrich Haas and sex-educator Mollena Williams relationship and more.

Fire on the Hill tells the tale of modern Black cowboys in Compton, California. Hillbilly, a deep look into Applachia, The Insuffrable Groo--about a man who makes awful movies, and has fans like Napoleon Dynamite’s Jared Hess and Jack Black. Also showing during the fest is Jane Fonda in Five Acts, Quincy, Pope Francis: A Man of His Word.
