Men’s Grooming Review: RICH by Rick Ross or How to smell like the King of Wakanda

Or How to smell as RICH as the Prince Akeem of Zamunda using Rick Ross’s men’s skin care line.

For the last month and a half, I used Rick Ross's brand of men’s personal grooming products, RICH by Rick Ross. Firstly, if you are not familiar with Rick Ross then you’ve been living under a rock the size of Trumpf’s ego. Rick Ross is a rapper, producer, and entrepreneur. His 11 albums contain more hits than Seal Team Six-–with no plans of stopping anytime soon.

Like any smart hood millionaire, Mr. Ross has branched out into new endeavors – his line of beard, hair and styling products are the tip of an expanding empire. The products I was fortunate to use were: Luxury Beard Oil, Luxury Shaving Cream, Luxury After Shave Balm, Luxury Hair & Body Wash, and Luxury Shampoo.

Let’s start at the top. My shaving regimen is once a week (my head and face) and a quick trim of the beard every morning. Using the Luxury Shaving Cream was a wonderful olfactory trip back to the barber shops of my youth; when high top fades were in fashion. The scents from the shaving cream came together in a relaxing and refreshing wave, making the shaving experience enjoyable, and my skin silky smooth.

The after-shave balm provided an enriching moisture barrier that protected my skin while I shaved. The beard oil (powered by hemp seed oil) delivered some much-needed enrichment and gave me the sheen my beard was missing. After a few weeks my beard felt fuller and my split ends were gone. Using all three products gave my skin enrichment, protection, and left me smelling like Prince Akeem after a royal shave.

The Hair & Body wash is a glimmering elixir of moisturizers and anti-oxidants that not only clean away any funk, and leaves you smelling like a T'Challa with the confidence to take on Thanos, let alone the work day. Along with the shampoo RICH is infused with some of the best ingredients know to the beauty industry: champagne, Kona coffee and caviar extracts. These are not dyes and whiteboard chemicals thrown together for a faux sent that won’t stand up to New York subway heat. It’s a combination of fortifying components that were created to brighten your skin’s natural color, remove city grime, and remind you that your ancestors came from a land that was totally in touch with the land.

RICH by Rick Ross is one of those rare finds. It’s a line of products that does what it promises. The line DOES promote bright, healthy skin and hair. Prices range from $12.99 to $15.99. You can buy the products online, or exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply stores across the country.

If you’re tired of over scented body products being pushed to you in weird head scratching commercials then RICH by Rick Ross is the way to go.
