The House Of Tom Ford Roars Style Over Fashion Once Again Via Tom Ford Women Spring Summer 2017.
Had it not been for the fashion’s greatest provocateur Tom Ford’s stint with Gucci, we wouldn’t have known Gucci the way we know it today – all sexy.
Tom Ford is the man who got Gucci back on the fashion radar in the early 90’s, when he took over as the brand’s creative director in 1994, only to part ways with it in 2004, leaving Gucci with deteriorating sales again and yearning for a creative director as sharp as him.
For Ford, it was even bigger a leap for he came up with his namesake label in 2006.
Come 2009, the world saw him behind the camera for his directorial debut, A Single Man.
And if that is not enough evidence of this fashion designer’s iconoclastic repertoire, let us take you back in 2016, when Tom Ford ditched the traditional fashion calendar and took to see now, buy now model.
“ The current way of showing a collection, four months before it is available to customers, is an antiquated idea and one that no longer makes sense”, said Tom Ford in the brand’s press release.
Spring Summer 2017 marks the second season of straight to the consumer collection for the brand that was launched on tomford.com and made available in its stores.
Known for high end luxury and a designer to work on his own terms, style, timelessness, class and glamour are the words that more or less sum up his work for spring 2017.
Watch out for the quintessential fashion trends seen at Tom Ford Spring Summer 2017.
1) Exquisite Sequined Outfits
The outfits were cut of sequined fabrics, similar to the one’s seen at Tom Ford Fall Winter 2016.
Knee length dresses, nipped waist column gowns and skirts were either smeared with black, white and earthy tone sequins all over or had patches of sequined fabrics on the sleeves, on the neckline or on the front of the outfit.
2) Ford Sticks To The Streamlined Silhouette
Another trend that was seen coming straight from the fall winter 2016 collection of the brand was the ni waisted, pencil skirted silhouette.
Column gowns, knee length dresses and asymmetric, layered column skirts were seen flaunting the streamlined silhouette.
3) Influential Color Palette
Major chunk of the outfits either had a monochromatic color scheme – all black or all white or displayed the color blocking technique – white and black or earthy tones like gold, brown, rusty red put together.
These outfits were accessorized with chunky belts, statement neck pieces, single earring and bracelets.
