Monisha Jaising presented a sizzling collection inspired from the glitterati of the ladies dressing up for the ‘Opera’. Actor Shilpa Shetty walked down the ramp as the showstopper for her in a off shoulder, thigh high slit gown in a ravishing red.

For the vibrant collection the designer used a medley fabrics like lamé, velvet metallics, tulle, chikankari, Italian organza, banarasi, metallic satin etc. The range of colours encompasses burgundy, rose pink, ice blue and bright reds. 

Fusion at its best, the collection included cocktail sarees, evening gowns, separates like crop tops, cigarette pants and ball skirts, and concept lehengas adorning the models on the runway.

Monisha Jaising stated in a press release, “Having been to the Opera in the past, the inspiration for my collection was triggered by the fond memory of the Opera house flowing with people in their finery. I find the whole process of displaying this finery starting from the entrance, walking up the palatial stairways, to the seating area to be exceptionally enticing! You can sort of say that it is a fashion show for the people by the people.”
