The 10th anniversary celebration of Indian Couture started today with a bang with Anamika Khanna’s luxury bridal installation show aptly named ‘Happily Ever After’.

The bridal Collection brings together the various rituals of the quintessentially luxurious Indian wedding.

The first part of the collection is for the first customary function with pastel colours including ivory, washed blue, jade and pink.

It exudes romance in an ethereal way with zardozi techniques and thread work experimenting with shapes and borders.

Bringing in more colours was the second part of the collection for the mehndi function. This collection featured lehengas, shararas and draped saris. With deep mustard, purple, coral and red as the main colour palette, this part was definitely a more experimental in its outlook. There was use of gota work, dori work, and kinari work in gold and silver.

The Sangeet now fused into  the cocktail party formed the third part of the collection with the designer experimented with tassles, beaten silver and beadwork for this collection that brings together the east and the west. Fuchsia juxtaposed with emerald green, black etc. Organza and zardozi were brought in together for the collection.

The final part of the collection was all about exquisite handiwork, bringing tradition to the forefront with zardozis and Banarasis in ivory, pink, purple with a dose of orange. The bandhgala blouse stood out in the collection with intricate designs and dainty embroideries.

The jewellery for the collection was made in collaboration with Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers to present a complete look for the bride to be.
