Destination Femme Sits Down With Emmanuel Kabongo From The Congo

Being an actor isn’t as easy as it seems. Most people think that you can just move to LA, work in a coffee shop and hopefully get picked up by an agent. That’s not the case. We sat down and chatted with Emmanuel Kabongo to get his take on what it’s like to work in such a creative industry that’s not only competitive but extremely rewarding.

Introducing himself as “Emmanuel Kabongo from the Republic of Congo“, we knew right from the get-go that chatting with him would be a breeze. You’ve heard stories of those Hollywood divas who’ve let their stardom get to their heads, but with Emmanuel, this isn’t the case. He’s already got a long line of credits to back up his acting career, but fame has not taken over. In his humbling voice, Emmanuel shared with us what it’s like to act alongside Kit Herrington (hello John Snow!), act in a major motion picture (Pompeii) and a television broadcast (Rookie Blue), as well as taking part in a controversial web series (Teenagers).

Unfortunately we weren’t there to witness it happen in person, but Emmanuel recently presented an award this past Sunday at The Canadian Screen Awards. But besides presenting awards, his other accomplishments include graduating from The Canadian Film Center (CFC), which Emmanuel proclaims to be one of the biggest highlights of his career thus far. We can only predict great things from this young actor that has not only already accomplished so much at start of his career but continues to move forward and strives to produce the highest quality content possible.

If you could ask Emmanuel Kabongo anything, what would it be?
