Hi, Guys.. I am back to the another write-up. It’s been a long time that I have disappeared from here because I was messed up with a few things. Well, as I promised in the previous post that we will talk about the Luxury pieces in the next blog, here we are. Here, we will try to sort out the mystery behind the most often question about luxury pieces and the question is, “why are luxury pieces so expensive?”

So, let’s try to get the answer of few questions which pop up in our mind when we try to find out the reasons behind this.

• Are we paying for the value of name and fame of the designers?
• Are they offering the high-end quality products?
• Are we paying the money for their fashion shows and marketing?

1. Are we paying the value of name and fame of the designers?

Recently, me and my friend headed for shopping and had visited the Burberry store. I was surprised with the prices of the pieces. So, I thought that I am not going to buy anything from here because it was a waste of money for me. However, my friend bought a shirt from there. She paid $550 bucks for that. You should know that the shirt was on sale, the real price of the t-shirt was $800. And, I can see the expressions of my friend’s face as she was very happy after getting that on sale. To be honest, it was a total waste of money for me. I want to let you know that I just got the similar shirt from Walmart and I paid only $20 bucks. The shirt was something like this:

After being on the shopping spree, I asked my friend the reason for spending such a big amount on just a t-shirt. She replied, “Do you have any idea about the stardom and fame of Thomas Burberry? People are crazy for him. Even, celebrities are also following him. It’s the big name of the industry. That’ why I opted for this.”

Apart from this incident, a few more of this type of incidents happened with me on my shopping days.

Hence, I reached to the conclusion that a few people are just paying the value of name and fame of the designers. It’s helping the designers to grow their business worldwide.

2. Are they offering the high-end quality products?

Yup, I can agree on this point. Recently I read an article in a Fashion magazine that prices of the popular materials like crocodile skin, snakeskin and pure leathers are increasing and it’s getting tough to get the original raw materials for manufacturing the products. Here are the steps of manufacturing the luxury products:

• Designs
• Collecting original raw materials
• Hand-made stitching and manufacturing
• High standard technologies
• Team of professionals
• Multi-layer testings

So, we can imagine that a full team of professionals is behind the productivity of a single item. Here, you can see a video of productivity of a luxury watch.

Hence, the conclusion is yes, they are offering the high-end quality products and the manufacturing process is far better than our imagination.

3. Are we paying the money for their fashion shows and marketing?

It’s been trending in just the last few years. The fashion freaks have started to get to know more about the fashion trends and the style statement of their favorite celebrities. For example – At New York Fashion Week held in February 2017, India’s very own desi girl Priyanka Chopra and Hollywood-fame Deepika Padukone have stunned everyone with their outfits. Deepika was at the Michael Kors’ show while Priyanka attended Prabal Gurung’s show. Take a glimpse of their smashing looks:

So, back to the point, this is also a reason for the high prices of luxury products. Because the brands are paying a huge value to the famous celebrities, media houses, event organizers and so on, the prices are affected. Hence, this is also a reason for the high prices of the luxury products.

Final Say

There are a lot of reasons behind this. We can’t point out to a single fact. Even designers are also working in multi-layers and providing their best products to the customers. Also, their name, fame, marketing is like the extra butter on bread which everyone likes. So, it’s totally your choice to grab them or to avoid them. However, it was a total myth that spending on luxury products is a waste of money.
