Excuse us, for we’re borrowing from the 50’s Shoe trends this year. Complete with it’s short block heel, peep-toes and ankle buckle, it’s official—your granny’s slingbacks’ have returned.
The shoes made their appearance more than once in Givenchy, Michael Kors and Burberry Prorsum’s SS16 collections. It was a major throwback to Chanel’s iconic two-toned sling backs that made waves in the accessory chapter of the fashion world (are you envisioning the cream/black hued shoes that cost a fortune?)
However, the latest version of the slingbacks steer away from the mainstream and merge with current shoe trends. The buckle holds the shoe in place and we get to wear the hottest shoe of the year so who’s complaining?
We’ve put together the 10 best slingbacks we could find across the net (platforms, flatforms, kitten…you name it) for you to shop. Add-to-cart?
You’re inside the water. Might as well take a nice refreshing dip, eh? Borrow from the 50’s without shame. Here’s a slingback with everything—polka dots, colours and the little block heel. Win!
