How to Do Yoga Meditation?

The stretching exercises we do in Yoga were actually designed thousands of years ago. They helped the practitioner to gain control over their own body and mind. Yoga is a Sanskrit word that actually means “Union With The Divine”.

The energy that is produced while doing yoga rises from the base of the spine and reaches the top of the head taking the practitioner to a state of self -awareness and thus he can achieve self-realization.

Yoga is basically done to make our body and soul stress free. With regular practice of yoga and self-realisation, the person can feel his own Kundalini that moves between the 7 chakras of the body and also the spiritual energy of anyone they put their Attention on.

You just need to know the rules of the yoga. These rules are simple to follow.

1. Find a quiet place

You must look for a quiet place which is not trespassed frequently. This serene corner can be in your house or in a near by park.

2. Sit in a comfortable place

Sit at a place that is comfortable for you. It is not necessary to sit on the floor initially, if you are not in a habit of it. You can sit upright in a chair. Remove your shoes and keep your feet slightly apart. Keep both the palms on your knees, open. If you are comfortable to sit on the floor then it is better.

3. Become aware of your surroundings

Close your eyes and try to feel your surroundings. First feel the things around you and then direct your attention inside, to the base of your spine. Now, slowly pull your attention up through the center of your body along the spinal column, until you reach the top of your head and slightly forward. This was a soft spot when you were a baby. Keep your eyes closed, now press the palm of your right hand onto this soft spot. Then raise your hand about six inches above your head, palm facing down. Move it up and try to locate a point where you feel an energy point that is either cool or warm. Keep your attention focused on this point. You may also use your left hand.

4. Find peace

Sit in this position for 10 minutes. Just forget about everything else.

5. Slowly open your eyes

Try to be aware of any change that you can feel inside your body.
