1. Make a plan

It’s much easier to stick to a workout commitment if you plan ahead. Before your day/week starts, think about what kind of exercise you want to do for the day. Determine when you’ll go to the gym and how much working out you can and should do. You can start slowly at first by telling yourself that you’ll go right after work for no more than 30 minutes. Then, decide what exercises you’ll do, begin at a steady pace and increase your workout rate only when you’re ready too.

2. Bring your workout wardrobe with you

If you have your workout clothes with you at work, getting into the workout mindset is no problem. It can be as simple as having your gym bag with clothes ready to go at a moment’s notice. Changing into these clothes can only take a few minutes. By the time you’re in your gym shorts and wearing those tennis shoes, you should be geared up to go. If you fear you won’t be motivated after a long day of work, try exercising before hitting the office. It can really make you feel more motivated and energetic during the workday. Some women say that they squeeze in a quick 30 minute workout during their lunch break.

3. Take your show on the road

Is one of your excuses for not working out that you want to catch up on your favorite televisions series instead? Well, you can certainly combine the two. Bring your phone with headphones and your favorite shows pre-loaded. If you’re invested enough in what you’re watching or listening to, you might not even notice how much you’re sweating. Instead of being sedentary while enjoying entertainment, you can be active. Just make sure that you aren’t disturbing other gym-goers with loud gasps and fits of laughter.

4. Pick a gym with great hours

Not everyone has schedules that allow them to make it to the neighborhood gym before they close. That’s why there are so many gyms with flexible hours. For instance, you can use a 24-hour gym to enjoy some after-hours exercise. This can be extremely enjoyable, as you don’t have to worry about waiting for others to get done using the equipment.

5. Make it fun

Don’t think that working out is something that you have to do. Instead, think of it as something you get to do. Exercise is a true pleasure, known only by those who take the time to do it. Sign up for fun classes, such as HIIT and spin cycle, to meet new people while you get in shape.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself when developing a workout schedule. There might be days when you can only get in a few minutes of exercise. However, you can remember that even a small amount of exercise is much better than none. You have made so many strides and proven your ambition. With this guide, you can make exercising all the easier.
