Dr Jekyll Intense Focus Review – Fruit Punch

Pre-workouts can help to boost your stamina and endurance.

Taking a preworkout can help to progress your workouts, lift heavier and rep more.

We are trying to find the best preworkout supplement 2018. We are testing and reviewing the top preworkouts to find the best.

We have 3 different reviewers trying Dr Jekyll Intense Focus pre-workout, fruit punch flavour. We hope that with 3 different reviewers we can create a trustworthy review.

Dr Jekyll Pre-Workout can be supplemented with Mr Hyde or on its own, they say to do half a scoop of each to begin with.

Dr Jekyll claims to give you Intense Focus, concentration and alertness. It is a low stimulant and they say you can use or daytime or night time and still sleep.

Let’s find out if this low stimulant preworkout, Dr Jekyll, delivers…

Packaging

This packaging looks very professional, it has embossing and metallic colours. Its main colours are black, white, silver and red. It is very easy to read, information is clear and on a white background. The lid is black with ProSupps logo debossed in.

Ingredients

Beta-Alanine, Creatine Monohydrate, Glycerol Monostearate, L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate, Flavouring, Anti-Caking Agents (Calcium Silicate, Silicon Dioxide), L-Citrulline, Glucuronolactone, Acid (Citric Acid), N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, L-Ornithine Hydrochloride, Taurine, Beet Root (Beta Vulgaris) Powder, Sweetener (Sucralose), Soluble Corn Fibre, Betaine Hydrochloride, Caffeine Anhydrous, Choline  Bitartrate, Inositol, Colour (Allura Red)

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement, mix 1 scoop of DRJEKYLL with 8oz of cold water. Consume 15 to 30 minutes before exercise. DO NOT CONSUME more than 2 servings in a 24 hours period.

Taste and Mixability

This pre-workout would just not mix, after vigorously stirring it I was still left with a lot of residues.

I tried mixing throughout drinking this but I didn’t have any luck, so I just got it down. The residue affected the texture of this, it definitely wasn’t smooth.

The taste wasn’t bad though, it was quite nice, to begin with. After a few mouthfuls, it got a bit strong and sickly but it reminded me or sherbet or something from my childhood.

It was drinkable and that’s all that counts, I guess. I’ve definitely had worse tasting preworkouts.

Effectiveness

Dr Jekyll, for me, gave me a subtle energy boost. I quite liked being relaxed but still having the energy to continue my workout.

The subtle energy boost was still there for around an hour after my workout, I felt like I had a really good nights sleep and was completely refreshed – I wish I had tried it earlier in the day as I had a bad nights sleep…

Considering I didn’t sleep well though, I had a pretty good workout so maybe I had more than a subtle energy boost. I wasn’t really in the mood to workout but my attitude changed as soon as I got into the gym.

When it comes to being focused, I would say again it was subtle. I had my goals and I was working towards them. I tried different things in the gym and was motivated.

The way I, personally, would describe this Dr Jekyll is as a starter pre-workout, for those who have never used a pre-workout before. I think this would allow your body to get used to the ingredients in most pre-workouts without shocking the body.

I would rate Dr Jeyll as 6.5/10.

Side Effects

I felt a very slight tingle in my left palm during my warm-up. It didn’t affect my workout at all and disappeared after around a minute or so.

That would have been the beta-alanine – it causes a temporary tingling feeling.

Is Dr Jekyll a good pre-workout?

Dr Jekyll Intense Focus seems to be a mild preworkout, maybe that’s to do with its low stimulants.

However, it does state this from the beginning, it doesn’t claim to be something it isn’t.

When it comes to the focus aspect, it probably does lack and doesn’t give ‘intense focus’. Our reviewers had mixed reviews about focus and concentration.

We definitely think Dr Jekyll would be a good starting point if you are new to pre-workouts, or maybe supplement it with something else.

We would give Dr Jeykll Intense pre-workout an average rating of 6.5/10.
