Why I’m going vegan.

Tags: vegan diet meat

There’s a new documentary on Netflix which everyone is raving about –> What the health.

It’s a documentary looking at how a plant based Diet affects your health –> the show is full of research and case studies to show that this diet is extremely beneficial. There were people who were due to be on medication for life and within 2 weeks of adopting a Vegan diet, they were off half or even full their medication –> something I found extremely inspiring.

The one thing I will say is that every single people who is interviewed follows a plant based diet –> it’s a very biased documentary and their main focus is to encourage and promote veganism. I think this is so important to remember when you watch it because although their arguments are extremely strong, they don’t ever tell you the other side –> there’s no argument about eating a Meat based diet.

That said, I felt extremely inspired after watching it and I’ve decided to give it a go. Why? Because I don’t feel I can truly comment on something that I’ve never experienced. I’ve always been a meat eater –> I’ve gown up in a meat eating household. Over the past couple of months I have been decreasing my meat intake–> I don’t like the way our animals are kept anymore and I don’t feel meat is essential to our diet. However, I’ve still been eating dairy products such as cheese and chocolate –> they are basically a staple food in my diet!

So for a month (I’m looking at it as a trial) I am going to be giving up all meat and dairy products and adopting a full vegan diet. I want to see if it affects my health and my energy levels like the documentary claims.

I’ve found an incredible vegan protein by myprotein AND it’s no more expensive that their usual protein which I’m really happy about:

I’m also not a stranger to vegan dishes –> a lot of what I cook now is either vegetarian or vegan, I’ll just need to loose the cheese:

I’m quite excited to try this –> if I don’t feel any different then I might go back to my minimal meat eating, it’s all trial and error.

I’ll let you know how I get on and I’ll also share some recipes for you guys to try –> even if you’re not vegan or vegetarian they’re pretty yummy!

Are you vegan or vegetarian? Any recipes you love?

Have you seen what the health? What did you think?
