The Moto G4 Play is a great solution for those who want a fully-featured smartphone but lack the budget power to push for, say, Apple or Samsung devices. The really premium features such as fingerprint sensor are reserved for the higher budget G4 Plus, but if such bells and whistles are not your thing, the G4 Play is for you. 8. Microsoft Lumia 650 Dual SIM

The Lumia 650 Dual SIM, with its 5-inch touchscreen display, attractive design, and good battery performance is another solid entry by Microsoft in the smartphone sector. The phone has benefited from the Windows 10 Anniversary update, although with more subtlety than on the company’s laptops and desktops, but the real USP of the 650 Dual SIM is its build quality. Blackberry for many years seemed to have been bypassed by players such as Apple and Samsung in the smartphone stakes, until their recent Priv model brought them right back into the foreground. The DTEK60 may not have as memorable a name as the Priv, but this is one of Blackberry’s prettiest and most elegantly designed handsets. Security and privacy is a priority feature of this phone, and it has truly excellent battery life. The camera has 21mp and shoots 4k video. It may not be as ‘fun’ as some of Blackberry’s previous models, but it’s a very strong ‘all business’ contender.

10. Huawei Sensa LTE

The battery on the Huawei Sensa LTE is a talking point in and of itself, delivering 19 hours of talk-time, and standby time of 18 days. The phone has superb camera features, including editing, video, while the audio and video are top notch also. The Sensa LTE is not loaded with apps, making it a perfect option for those new to smartphones, and want to learn about apps as they go.
