FIVE STEPS TO HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY

Every successful entrepreneur, CEO and Business  owner races to grow her Productivity and that of her business on a continuing basis.
Productivity of the entrepreneur or business owner is a function of two variables: Value and time. Value of what is produced even of social services is ultimately expressible in dollars.
The challenge before all entrepreneurs and business owners is not only about creating more value but to continuously increase the value created within a continuously decreasing time. The question thus is: how do you continuously create more in a continuously decreasing time space?
Here is a list of five easy to implement ways to supercharge your productivity resulting in doubling or even tripling of your productivity within the shortest possible time:
1.       Find your Passion: Productivity is about creating more value within a particular time frame. You will create far more value if you have passion for what you do. So, the key question is: do you have passion for what you do? If you do not have passion for what you do, then increasing your productivity will be an uphill task. Doing what you have passion for helps maximize your productivity.
Are your people at the ports that they have the greatest passion for? Without you and your people having passion for what you do, productivity cannot be optimized, no matter your efforts. Team building, peak performance management, seven habits of highly effective people, motivation, one minute manager, etc. will not work if you and your people are not at your passion post.
To super-charge your productivity and that of your people, be at the place that you derive the most joy. Do what you have passion for. Post your women to units where they can have the greatest fun doing your work: that is the highway to super productivity.
2.       Refocus Your Priorities: To get maximum productivity, you have got to re-order your priorities and find out your 20% tasks or activities that contribute 80% of the value you create in your business. You then concentrate all your energies to maximizing the creation of those 20% tasks or activities. This not only creates more value for you but also creates more time for you (80% of your time is saved) which can be deployed for more value creating activities.
You have got to apply the same principle to your men. Find out the top 20% of your people that create 80% of the value in your organization and spend more time and resources on them to produce more. This ultimately creates more value for your business. You can cascade this principle down your entire organization
3.       Organize Yourself: Only the organized can create more value. Get yourself and your people organized so that you can create more. Audit your management and leadership practice to find out value gaps that can be plugged and optimized.
4.       Eliminate Productivity Obstacles: Productivity obstacles are things that stand in the way of increasing the productivity of your business. They may be tangible, intangible or absence of knowledge, skills, people or network to raise your productivity and ultimately grow your business. Whatever it is, that is an obstacle to growing your productivity and thus your business, you have got to eliminate it. Sit down with your people and possibly outside help(some call them consultants) to find out what obstacles stand in your way to growing your business and inch by inch begin the process of eliminating them and see your productivity grow in no time.
5.       Maximize Use of Technology: We are in the information age driven by fast changing technology. Optimize the use of technology-soft and hard ware to create greater value for all stakeholders in your business: Customers, Investors, Employees and Regulators.
