Targeting Leads: How To Target Network Marketing Leads And Leave Old Methods Behind

 

Hello everyone! During my experience in the Network Marketing industry thus far I have encountered many questions dealing with signing up new distributors. If someone seems to be more successful than the next person they want to find out exactly how that person does Business and mimic it. A lot of companies in the game today preach the family and friends method of showing the plan. Get your friends and family in front of a DVD presentation in the comfort of their own home and let them be blown away by the guy presenting the information. Friends and family have got to sign up in your business because they are friends and family, right? Well, not so fast. I’m going to pump the brakes on that theory for one second and discuss why this may not be your go-to move.

First and foremost when you get into a Network Marketing Business there are going to be many questions that you need to answer at the hands of your potential distributors. A lot of friends and family might not know a lick about the industry and how the business works. The other half of that coin has a pre-conceived notion that this type of business is just another one of those scams or pyramid things. Now, I am not going to sit here and preach not to target your warm market first to get your feet wet and get used to presenting, because I believe you should. But I also believe you should not be so discouraged when these warm market leads tell you NO. The fact of the matter is how many of your friends and family want to actually start a business? How many of them will sign up as a favor and do the bare minimum so you can get a check? These are questions that you need to ask yourself when targeting these leads.

With that said, at all the hotel meetings, home meetings and Starbucks sit downs you are told by your up line to just set an appointment and show as many people the plan you can. This is great and it’s a start like I mentioned, but there is one key factor that is being left out here. The Internet! This extremely booming tool is sitting at the hands of everyone and there is really not a huge push to train and show distributors how to properly market their business. To me, this really has the ability to limit new business owner’s potential right out of the gate. How can this be solved? With work.

I know many of you were thinking I was going to say with ease, but nothing in life and our industry comes easy. That’s just something we need to face. The sooner, the better. Developing your own personal blog or website to produce high quality content is key in building your Network Marketing business. This allows people to find you and value your product and/or content. What happens to that list of people you wrote down with 100 names on it when you started the business and you call and show every one of them your business? Some say yes, some say no but now you are left without a list of names or people to show the business to. The internet is full of millions and millions of people searching for what you have to offer every single day! Your content can be posted for everyone to see. This excites me just writing about it!

So, here’s what you do. Create your own blog or website and begin to brand yourself by providing knowledge and solutions to others. You then pump your blog posts and your video posts out through all the social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, Forums, just to name a few. And you keep doing it every single day. If you can offer someone a solution or a learning curve every single day, you are doing what 97% of Network Marketers don’t do. And that puts you in a position to really leverage your business to succeed. After a little while you’ll notice you are getting traffic that is reading your content and valuing your opinion. And when you get comments on your page and e-mail correspondence you have in a sense just began to generate leads to your business using the power of the internet. I hope this helps, motivates and creates excitement for you moving forward in your quest to be a successful Network Marketer in your future endeavors.
