Four Months Old Baby dies in Delhi after doctors give him painkiller

Delhi: According to the report a four months old baby at a city hospital on Friday after he was given a painkiller injection by the doctor in order to provide temporary relief from the pain caused by a stitch in the upper lip.  The incident took place in Delhi’s Rohini-located Jaipur Golden Hospital.

A minor surgery was performed and the baby was given back to the mother. However, he kept crying even 30 minutes after the surgery was over. “The doctors took the baby away and administered some painkiller which he became completely silent. We got afraid to see him completely silent and without any motion,” Manish Kumar, uncle of the deceased said.

Once the family was informed about the baby’s death, the matter was taken to the Medical Superintendent, following which, “The family was told that it was a case of medicine reaction and nothing could be done about it.”According to a report, the family had filed a police complaint against the hospital administration and its doctors involved in the treatment of the baby.

When asked about the case, the doctors claimed, “The boy was administered a sedative after the surgery and he showed abnormal reactions, like breathing complications, which is a very rare case in any humans, one out of 25,000 cases.” “His heart is functioning and oxygen supply is coming but the brain is showing some problems. We are trying our best to save the child,” he said.After one hour, the doctors came out and informed that the baby had died due to medicine reaction,” said Mr Kumar.
