About Daniela

Here I was thinking that I had the first week introductory post mastered for the remainder of my Program at Boston University when all of a sudden the creation of a blog appeared in the syllabus.  My husband and I ran a blog a few years back prior to having a preschooler and when we still had time for hobbies such as photography and blogging about it.  Of course WordPress has changed substantially and the preschooler has destroyed a few of my brain cells in the meantime, but here is my stab at creating a blog about myself.

I was born and raised in Wuerzburg , Germany where I spent the first 22 years of my life and then decided to immigrate to the U.S. and never look back. For the past 17 years I have been working in the financial services industry and the last 13 years with a large credit union in Olympia , WA.  I worked on the operational and sales side of the organization until about 3 years ago when I decided to join the exciting world of risk management.  In my current role I oversee ERM, BCP, BSA, OFAC, Fraud, Security, and Compliance and very much enjoy what I do every day.

I have 4 classes left in the MS in Business Continuity, Risk, and Security.  It has been a great program and I have been able to apply something in my professional life from every class so far. I also enjoy the interaction with people from other industries and hearing about their challenges and how they overcome them.

My husband and I have two kids and are currently both in school (plus one of the kids is too…), so once all the responsibilities are handled there is not much time left for hobbies.  When I am not all tied up with kids, work, and school I enjoy photography, hiking, and everything else the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
