There is an extensive Traffic and pollution problem in our city’s center. These problems must be solved as soon as possible and there are various ways of doing that. One could be the offer of exclusive lanes for public transportation vehicles, another one that could be proved effective is banning all private vehicles from the city’s center during busy hours.

On the one hand yes of course banning all the private vehicles would cause a massive traffic and pollution reduction but consider that, what would happen in the everyday routines of people who are used in using their car in order to go to their jobs or to go shopping? It would take a considerable amount of time for them to adapt to the new reality of things in my opinion. Until then there would be a large amount of confusion in the city and I think there are much better ways with less consequences of solving these problems.

On the other hand providing a large amount of exclusive lanes for public transportation vehicles would reduce the traffic because far fewer cars would be able to drive through the city’s center so as a result the pollution would be reduced as well. This would also lure people to use the mass transports more often because they would reach their destinations quicker than they would with their cars so even more reduction of traffic and pollution.

In conclusion I believe that providing exclusive lanes for public transportation vehicles would be a better and more effective way of reducing traffic and pollution.
