The use of embedding the Essbase within this reporting platform is twofold:

·         First, it allows you to store huge quantities of data in a way that can be accessed quickly.

·         Second, it allows you to maintain and organize the information for fast and powerful retrieval for rapid decision support.

In this case, the EBS or PeopleSoft General Ledger can continue to serve as the local book that is used for journal posting, and period close, while Fusion General Ledger can serve as the corporate book where you perform real-time reporting and analytics throughout the accounting period.

The components of the reporting and analytics platform are discussed in detail:

End users can access any report they are authorized to see with the ability to make multidimensional analysis and drill-down from any of the live reports. It also offers General Accounting Dashboard, Account Inspector, Account Monitor, Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio, and Oracle Hyperion Smart View.
