Brief Introduction to Nagarjuna college of Engineering
Well, talking about Nagarjuna College of Engineering and technology in short called NCET is a very well known institution among the other Engineering colleges in Bangalore. Its been like 13-14 years since NCET was established.
It is affiliated to VTU until last year i.e 2015. In the year 2015 the college got an “AUTONOMOUS STATUS” but it still is autonomous under VTU. And this year it got accredited “A-GRADE” by the NATIONAL ASSESSMENT ACCREDITATION(NAAC).

NCET is linked up with the IEEE. It has its own IEEE Student chapter and is a part of the SSIT society of IEEE.
Where is Nagarjuna college of Engineering situated?
It is located on the NH7 road, or we can say it is 13 KM away from Devanahalli, or 5 KM away from Chikballapur. Of course off from main stream Bangalore area and not nearer to city limits. But we strongly admit this as an advantage cause studying in environment like this is worth experiencing in life.

Environment inside college is eye pleasing and refreshing. Campus is not as large one can imagine, but still large enough for an Engineering students roam.
NCET has a campus covering about 72 acres of area.
Each department has its own block and there’s a food court i.e. canteen which is spacious enough for lot some people and yes the food is also good or satisfactory.

Infrastructure:
As we said before, this college has one of the best principal in the country and so is infrastructure. Everything is well maintained and academic harmony is smartly soothed in to the college campus. Ragging is strictly banned.
And authorities are very helpful when it comes to academic needs of students and we felt this institution is little strict when it comes to having fun in college. Whatever as it may, infrastructure is best in it’s class.
Faculty
Talking about the courses offered in NCET, it has five branches for engineering which are,
Electronics and communication Engineering: EC being the toughest branch but the present HOD of EC dept. is quite a cool person and is opened up to listen to its department’s students and works hard for the betterment of this branch kids. And the faculties of this department are quite good and helpful.
Computer science and Engineering: CS HOD is quite strict when it comes to bunking classes issue. He might call up your parents regarding this. And the rest faculty is also quite good only.
Information science and Engineering: Yes quite good and peaceful branch of ncet.
Civil Engineering: Again has a good faculty and you will find this branch students involving themselves more on social events like eco club etc.
Mechanical engineering: It’s better if you don’t mess up with mechanical teachers and you might have to face many extra classes during holidays and you might even get screwed up for bunking.

LIBRARY:
Library block
A separate library block which has two floors i.e. the ground floor and the first-floor having reference sections too and yes of course WiFi connection too.
WIFI:
Yes, the most important thing for a student now a days is “WiFi”. I know all students seek for WiFi in their colleges , well NCET gives each of its students a separate username and password to connect to the WiFi whenever they want.

Since the college has become an autonomous college now so they are focusing more on placements now. Companies like Tech Mahindra and Amazon, NTT data etc visit NCET for campus drive.

Fests:
IKYA: Intercollegiate fest
Ikya is the intercollegiate fest conducted in NCET.
It occurs once in two years.
Mass student participation happens in this, where the students are led to participate in whichever field they want whether its tech, art, music or dance.
They also take part from coordination of the whole fest to even anchoring in the fest.
It also gives the lead role for students to be in the sponsorship, marketing, and telecommunication committee for the college fest so that they get to experience and learn new things from the outside world in this present era of massive competitions.
In short Ikya is one such platform where the student exhibits his co-curricular activities and learns more with fun.
And if you expecting it to be some rocking fest like Reva or BMSE then please don’t, because the fest happens for two days and both the days the fest starts around 9 am in the morning and gets winded up by max to max 7pm in the evening and most importantly other college students are not allowed into the campus that day until and unless they are the participants. And ID card is a must important factor even during the college fest. Trust me you will not be let inside even if you belong to NCET only if you don’t have an id card!
But yes one thing’s for sure that college transport would be provided during both the days of the fest days.
FEES:
For a KCET students, the fees will b approximately around,
Rs 47,400/- including the college fees and if the student uses the transport then the transport fees is around Rs 22,000 till Yelahanka and after Yelahanka its Rs 25,000.
Hostel:
Girls hostel
Boys hostel
Rs 60,000-90,000. i.e. depending on us.
3 per room common bathroom 75k,
3 per room attached bathroom 85k,
4 per room attached bathroom 90k,
(Regarding hostel rooms, you would actually like it and won’t have complaints regarding the rooms).
There is a concession of about Rs5,000 in your college fees if your joining NCET after completing your PUC from Nagarjuna Pre-University college (NPUC).
RULES AND REGULATIONS :
There are a number of rules and regulations in NCET but the major ones are listed below:-
- Students should compulsory be wearing the identity card while they are in the college premises and campus.
Use of mobile phones are prohibited in college premises but can be used in canteen or campus i.e areas where teaching is not going on. - The student will be allowed to write the exam only if he/she has 85% and above attendance.
- We heard many students get detained here due to shortage of attendance.

Nearby Hangouts:
As NCET falls on the NH7 road its near to the International airport and very near to Nandi hills.
And you will find places like Jain temple ,Tippu birthplace and sir M.Visveswarya birth place there.
About 30kms away from NCET you will find the very famous Avalabetta too!
So overall I can say you can just expect all hills around rather than malls or high-five places like you want.
CONCLUSION: Authorities are little strict towards students and we felt only thing which lacks here is something which holds students up to an extent that they get used to the environment and they don’t seem like enjoying their graduation period. Well, this college is an excellent choice for you if you are a looking for a college where teaching and infrastructure is excellent.
We can’t guarantee that you get placed at the end of final year, but surely you will get placed if you have a good academic background here.
