The UK’s largest Flood and coastal erosion conference and exhibition, Flood and Coast 2017, convened by the Environment Agency, will take place over three days at the Telford International Centre from March 28 – 30.
The programme for the event includes a total of 150 presentations and case studies, including professionals from the drainage sector will debate some of the most pressing issues with the Environment agency.
Clare Dinnis, Deputy Director of Strategy at the Environment Agency and Chair of the Flood and Coast Event said:
“Alleviation schemes continue to be a critical part of protecting the country against flood risk. Pressures on our cities and all urban areas coupled with climate change, require us to look for innovative ways and drainage solutions to increase resilience and sustainability. Here we are looking for different sectors to showcase their best examples and learn from one another so we can offer communities the resilient services they need.”

- Role of uplands in managing downstream risk

- Sustainable Urban Drainage design for catchment flood protection
- The use of existing reservoirs for flood alleviation
- UK Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems and Chinese sponge cities
- Warrington – flood alleviation scheme
- Water – managing the extremes
- WEM Framework – Environment Agency
Apart from the paid-for conference, there will also be a gratis exhibition as well as a series of free seminars more than 80 exhibition stands showcasing the latest technology and innovations, as well as in excess of 100 Environment Agency personnel.
