This is the 4th annual Prime Day, and they get bigger every year. Analysts expect today’s sales to be off the charts:

- 6x the sales of a typical Amazon day
- Higher sales volumes than Cyber Monday 2017
- Over 2% of Amazon’s total revenue for the entire 365 day year
If you aren’t shopping on Prime Day, you’re missing out.

At $119 Amazon Prime does seem pricey, and it isn’t for everyone. But consider the following:

- I live in Hawaii and Amazon still offers free 2 day shipping.
How much is free shipping worth?
I use Amazon Subscribe & Save to get 15% off my recurring monthly purchases, such as coffee beans, paper towels, shampoo, etc. All of those items are delivered with free shipping through Prime, which means I get free shipping on one large package every month with all of the goods I always need to buy anyway.
And I usually get them cheaper on Amazon (with that 15% discount) than in the stores.
Then there’s holiday and birthday shopping for friends and family. That’s at least 10-20 things I need to buy every year. And yup, free shipping again.
Maybe I buy too much stuff on Amazon, but the free 2-day shipping easily saves me the entire price of the Prime subscription on its own.
