7 Ways to Keep Your Coffee Hot

Tags: coffee

Have you ever taken a sip of your Coffee, only to find it’s already cooled down too much? We’re talking about the kind of cool that makes you grimace a little.

You may have your own preferred way of brewing coffee, but there’s a limited amount of time before your beloved coffee goes cold.

Why not try these seven methods to keep your coffee hot?

Mug Warmer

Make your coffee stay hot for longer with a mug warmer.  Mug warmers are available with an assortment of plugs, so you can enjoy a warm cup of coffee at your desk, or if you’re on the move.

Metal Coffee Beans

Have your heard of Coffee Joulies? These beans will absorb the heat from your coffee when it’s too hot and then release it once your cup of coffee gets to a cooler temperature.

Put a Cosy on Your Coffee Cup

A cosy for your coffee cup is a cheap and easy method of adding extra insulation to your mug. It keeps the heat away from your skin and in your mug instead, keeping your coffee hot!

Heat up Your Coffee Cup

Before brewing your coffee, preheat your mug. This will save your coffee from losing heat to your cold coffee mug. We suggest filling your coffee cup with boiling water from the kettle first. Leave the hot water in your mug for at least a minute before emptying it and adding your coffee.

Add Cream to Your Coffee

This makes your coffee thicker, so it’ll evaporate more slowly. The Modernist Cuisine says coffee with cream “cools about 20% more slowly than plain black coffee”.

Invest in a Cup or Mug with a Reusable Lid

If you’re a coffee enthusiast, you’re bound to have a favourite coffee mug. Investing in a mug that has a lid will help keep your coffee hot. Putting a lid on your cup will help contain the heat.

Here at Keurig, we like to use our very own stainless steel travel mug.

Use a Thermal Coffee Carafe

A thermal coffee carafe will use the existing heat from your coffee to keep it warm. Transfer your freshly brewed coffee into an insulated coffee carafe. This is a great way to keep your coffee at a high temperature for a good percentage of the day, as well as preserve the taste and flavour.

Try these techniques to keep your cup of coffee at the perfect temperature and prolong the enjoyment of our K-Cup® pods. Let us know which method worked best for you and tweet @KeurigUK !
