Where to Stay and Fly Fish in New Zealand

We thought it might be helpful to have this selection of New Zealand Fishing Lodges on hand.

New Zealand is well known for having some of the best trout fishing in the world and there is no better way to enjoy it than from a beautiful lodge.

We represent many of the best lodges in the country, spread through the North and South Islands, offering brown and rainbow trout Fishing and some salmon fishing. The main trout fishing season runs from October to April, but there are places to fish all year round, especially in the North Island. We outline this in more detail here.

Lodges range from riverside beauties to remote wilderness settings, high country, lakefront and mountain valley retreats. Tongariro Lodge

– From humble beginnings as a 1920s tented fishing stay Huka Lodge has risen to be one of the noted resorts of the world. But amid all the luxury and glamour that goes with being the best, the fishing hasn’t changed. This is because Huka Lodge is only a short drive from the famed Tongariro River and close to great dry-fly fishing.
Treetops Lodge
– Set in 2500 acres of private wilderness and close to many fishing lakes and rivers Treetops Lodge offers a fantastic stay in superb luxury. This beautiful property offers lodge, villa and private retreat accommodation, is close to the geothermal sights around Rotorua and is only an hour from excellent sea fishing in the Bay of Plenty.
Lake Taupo Lodge

Tui Lodge

Owen River Lodge

Stonefly Lodge

Blanket Bay
