Robotic Surgery Is Now Available at St. Luke's Medical Center Global City

Speaking before the Rotary Club of Makati Dasmarinas on January 28, 2015, Dr, Rebecca Singson of St. Luke's Medical Center in Global City introduced the new method of Surgery which can be used in operating cancer and ob-gyn patients.  This new method uses ultra-modern technology which is the surgical robot.  The Da Vinci Si surgical robot is the answer to surgery woes because of the many benefits it gives to patients.  With Robotic Surgery, the patient would not have to stay in the hospital for a lengthy recovery period.  One example that Dr. Singson cited was a jogger who was up and was jogging again just 30 days after a hysterectomy by robotic operation.

In addition to  faster healing time, the low risk of infection and complication is a plus too.  The surgical robot has four arms to precisely and accurately move inside the human body without cutting it open.   The arms of the surgical robot moves inside the human body according to the movements of the surgeon's hands.  This is how robotic surgery works.  Robotic surgery is like operating on a patient remotely.  Without any external exposure and with its accuracy of movements, bleeding is prevented and infection is avoided.

Dr. JV Prodigalidad is the male counterpart of Dr. Rebecca Singson.  Dr. Prodigalidad specializes in male prostate diseases.  Like Dr. Singson, Dr. Prodigalidad also promotes robotic surgery for men having problems in their prostate for the same reasons that Dr. Singson has.  A lot of patients are asking about the cost of this type of operation, of course, like any top-of-the-line, high-end product, it comes with a price, for now.  However, the benefits of robotic surgery far out weigh the price.  Consider missing months of work from traditional open surgery and the risk of bleeding and infection.

Dr. Rebecca Singson and Dr. JV Prodigalidad entertainin questions during their talk before the Rotary Club of Makati Dasmarinas.

Want to minimize pain in your operation?  Consider robotic surgery and be up and about in just a week.  Avoid a long recuperation, bleeding, and infection.
