Optimizing your time, hire a transfer in Madrid

In our post today, we’re going to talk about how to move around in Madrid.

Many of you have been asking me a very common question of a situation I see happening every day. Both the good and the bad examples of travelers that arrive in Barajas – Madrid: “I just got here, how do I get to my hotel?”

The first thing to think about is: am I travelling by myself or in a group?

If you’re travelling alone I would say you have the explorer profile so you should, definitely, go down from your arrival terminal and buy a subway ticket. One day tickets cost 8,40 euros and can be used for 24 hours in subways, buses and trains.

There’s another option which is the Autobus Express that will leave you in the city center making only two stops (one in Cibeles Fuente and another in Atocha Station).

The only bad thing about this bus is that if your hotel is far from these stops, you’ll need to find another way to get there. It costs 5 euros and it is pretty fast. I recommend it for light packers and someone who’s ready to walk.

The Autobus Express stops are flagged and they’re always near each terminal’s exit gate.

A different option would be to take a cab. There’s a pre-established price of 30 euros from the airport to the center of the city. In case you’re travelling with another person or more, this could be for you. Usually cab drivers are smart and they try to charge extras for bags and people. Be careful not to be scammed! In case you choose the taxi, demand a receipt when you get to your destination. This way you have all the data about the vehicle and driver in case you end up losing something and you want to get it back. But that’s not always certain.

The best option of all is the private Transfer.

When you get to the airport your driver is waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. He’ll help you with luggage and leave you at your hotel door. This is something that helps a lot after hours on a plane.

Our company offers this service which can be booked previously through the email: [email protected].

In Barajas (airport) there are countless companies that offer this service and, thinking about the cost and efficiency, it’s really interesting. You pay 75 euros and the car takes up to 7 (seven) people including luggage for a 55 km route or approximately 20 minutes.

Madrid Premium tours ‘s recommendation is always to book the transfer, hotel x airport, and also some tours to meet the city and the historic neighbor towns of Toledo and Segovia, to which we have schedules.

Come get to know Spain!

We’re here in Madrid waiting for you.
