Rustic excursion to an Indian village- A journey to rejuvenate

Hey Guys, Welcome on board. I am touched beyond words by your landing on my blog, a big thank you. Today I will take you to an amazing destination that (off-course I can bet) most of you have not visited.

153 Rural tourism projects in 28 states and union territories are sanctioned by the government of India for the purpose of touristic development. Thousands of foreign and Indian tourists visit the places but how many of them would have visited actual India in its original form without any alteration or modification in its appearance, without any efforts to dignify to attract tourist and without hiding natural look and appeal is a question. The places where your guide or escort takes you might have gone through the process of some kind of glorification.

Rural tourism! this one is not brand new term but gradually grabbing the attention of tourists. Here too, after a few visits villagers come to know that more their home looks beautiful, more income they can generate by tourist. Nowadays each country or destination strive head to toe to become the top tourist destination in the world by promoting any available kind of tourism namely pilgrimage, adventure, sports or medical.

To give my precious readers a detailed and in-depth vision of an Indian Village and propelled by being a travel blogger I sought myself gallivanting an Indian village on my thunderbolt Royal Enfield.
Off-course, I have not seen an Indian village first time during this excursion, as I am an Indian and have been passing by so many of villages on the way to travel other destinations.
Their culture, style of living, profession, climate are a few of the aspects most of us are aware superficially but not meticulously.

I would like to name this tour as the journey to a transforming Indian village. I travelled this destination to enlighten you with desi (Indigenous) Indian village in its original form without any glorification to up-lift standard.
I have done my best to capture its each and every nerves in my cam predominantly all the changes it has perceived from years. To demonstrate visually that how far it has gone to compete with the development pace of rest of India.

I kick-started my excursion from Udaipur, yeah, you are right, it's called lake city. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its running February, the month of love and romance, witnesses relatively cold but pleasant weather. It is the time when people love being under the sun at most of the time. The day itself is wonderful and sky shining blue over my head. The wind propelled me back as I pulled accelerator to touch 100 Kmph on national highway 79. After going around 50 KM I give a break to hot wheels of the bike to click some shots on the bridge.

  • Way to interior Indian Village-

After riding 170 Km I am about to touch one village.

Yes if you like to take some humpy bumpy ride then pass through this old path that takes you to the village. It used to be prime connectivity in old days. Alternative tarmac road is available to ride on, thanks to the initiative taken by the Indian government.

  • Houses where they live-

Cement, concrete and bricks were not known to the previous generation, so they built houses with the help of stone and soil. But walls were very broad and strong enough to sustain any kind of rude weather. Shade given with the help of wood and soil plats are efficient in reducing heat in summer. Currently, even villages in India are switching to the concrete house, have a look below.

  • Primitive Stove-

Their primitive stove

This semi circled "chulha" is a kind of gas stove for villagers for cooking by burning woods. LPG stove is being introduced nowadays. This "chulha" is also made up of soil.

  • Crop they grow-

Wheat, groundnut, soya, gram, maize and opium poppy are the most common crops harvested in the farm of this village.

  • How they water the crop-

Mainly wells are the source of water but a sometime river is also an option.

For irrigation, they still use a diesel engine. But now most of the farmers have an electric motor pump installed at well.

  • This is how crop rich to the market-

Earlier "Bail Gadi" used to transport the crop to the market but later-on tractor has replaced that.

  • Culture and tradition-

Turban tied heads can be easily seen if one visit this village.

Women still put a veil over face while roaming in the village or when
they meet any elder male.
Rajasthan had been the forefront of war for invader for thousand years, as its geographic location open door to rest of the world and that enforced the local population to keep their ladies in a veil to protect them from the enemy. But later on it converted in the culture and miserably they are still bound to that.

Thanks for coming so far. Please give your views in a comment box and please let me know when you have visited a calm and serene village in your country?
