The forests of Nunspeet

One of the biggest and most Famous nature areas of the Netherlands is the Veluwe. To the north of it lies the small city of Nunspeet, and it’s a densely forested area. Other areas of the Velue are famous for their heather and open fields, but here you want to go if you’re into Forests. While for foreigners, it may not be as big, but in an as densely populated country as the Netherlands, forests of these sizes are rare, especially spanning many different counties. It lies on top of what once were sand dunes, but have now been contained by vegetation. At some spots, you can still see traces of the sand on the surface.

If you’re lucky and the weather is good, you can spot deer and wild boars, however we went there in winter so we were out of luck.
