Takumi Ramen in Düsseldorf

Okay, let’s get one string straight: does Takumi serve the best noodle soup of whole Düsseldorf? No.

And I don’t mean that there is one better, it’s just: how do you quantify “best”? It’s surely not the only Restaurant serving really good noodles, it’s found in a street that has tons of authentic really good Japanese restaurants. This is just the one that got famous.

What I can say though, is that it deserves the fame. If you want to taste the Dish that took Japan by storm, you’re good here, because they get it. It’s a simple and light dish, not as heavy as you’re used to from most other noodlesoup restaurants you find in Europe. And yet it’s packed with flavour, while you feel totally refreshed after finishing it. Plus they nail the eggs as well.

I had to brave the freezing cold weather for about half an hour for this. Expect to wait about that same time if you’re alone, expect to wait longer if you’re in a group.
