Backpackers guide to Bali – A Balinese affair

Limited budget, an all-encompassing backpack and the promise of adventure both exotic and evocative; backpacking in Bali is certainly a not to be missed experience.

Accommodation

Backpackers looking for Cheap or budget family accommodation in Bali have lots to choose from. Places near main tourist centres like Kuta tend to be bit pricier. Hostels are cheap options worth looking into as our homestays which can average around 15 USD.

Getting Around

Bali does not have an advanced transport system so no rails or underground system here. That being said backpackers can enjoy a good old-fashioned stroll around the towns or inland, exploring paths off the beaten track. One of the best ways to get about is by hiring a motorbike or scooter which is cost-effective indeed.

Visit Tegallalang Rice Terraces

The sweeping Rice Terraces in Tegallalang, Ubud are a favourite photo opportunity for many tourists. This ancient valley spans before visitors like a timeless piece of earth where serenity, culture and ancient myths linger. The sloping rice fields are beautiful in their pale green or gold dress.

Beach Days

You can end your travels through Bali with a couple of weeks at one of the many beach resorts in such as Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa. This beautiful coastal area offers discerning travellers a chance to escape into a world of bliss; all bathed in the many hues light of beautiful sunsets, turquoise depths tinged with creamy foams and a sense of wellbeing.

Eating Out

Local food in Bali not only lets your taste buds experience exotic flavours but is cheap as well. Street food is a great option though you get larger eateries and restaurants offering international favourites as well. Nasi goring, mie goring, gado gado and nasi campur are among the dishes worth trying.
