On Sunday 27th August we came across no less than 135 Chanterelles and there were hundreds more ready to burst into life within a week or so, so we will be back to harvest some more. These mushrooms have a very distinct smell of apricots and are very sought after in retaurants. Here is a small selection of photos from the find. This has to be our best find so far. These was found in a new spot somewhere in the Forest of Dean. We will have to find some more walks to broaden our chances of finding more like this.
