This thing will add an instant cozy vibe to your kitchen

Have you noticed that, although supposedly otherwise, kitchens can often be cold and uninviting when it comes to their design? Esp. when they feature sleek contemporary cabinetry and a monochromatic palette that lack personality and interest. Which on the other hand, if you ask me, is a good thing as a neutral minimalistic background can be the perfect canvas to add personal touches and create a unique sophisticated style.

So, if that's your case, or if, even worse, you happen to live in a rental with the most boring generic cabinetry and tiling ever, how can you bring a personal vibe and a welcoming note to this room?

When my clients ask what is the quickest and easiest way to add warmth to the living room the answer is pretty straightforward; a cozy throw. It adds texture, pattern and depth as well as character and a lived vibe to the decor. Quite similarly, a linen tablecloth brings all the above to the kitchen setting.

Along with tea towels, napkins and curtains, a tablecloth is a perfect way to bring a warmth only textiles can bring to any room. I am suggesting linen as it is a sturdy, natural material that you can wash like a million times and only get better in time. Quite a pro for a busy kitchen without any doubt. And, doesn't need ironing. Even bigger of a pro, right?

A natural material such as linen can be a great contrast to a sleek minimalistic design but it is also a great match to a more eclectic, country or chic interior. Actually, I can't think of a setting where linen is not a good match. And, when combined with other natural materials, like wood, ceramics and foliage, things are getting way better for that matter.

I have been using this linen tablecloth for almost a year now and I love how it brings my whole kitchen decor together. I love its rough texture, the fact that it is durable and easy to wash and place back on the table in a few hours time and that its natural color hides all the everyday spots (and I do have a toddler and a baby in the house!). Anyway, there are endless options of linen tablecloths out there, from the affordable ones at H&M to the more sustainable handmade ones from independent sellers on Etsy that you can have at almost any size and color you wish.

Do you use a tablecloth on your kitchen table? Do you love the idea of hiding your kitchen table or do you prefer to keep as is? Any other tips on adding a welcoming note to the kitchen decor are highly appreciated!
