Why You Should Check Out This Year's Full House Lottery

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of exploring this year's Full House Lottery Dream Homes with a couple of my blogger besties. We basically ran around the three properties, giddily snapping photos while pretending we lived there. "I would so make this my bedroom," we would say, and "think of the parties we could host here!" we gushed, and "OMGeeee, did you see that closet?!" we squealed. It was an insanely fun way to spend a morning, which kind of felt like stepping through a television and being transported to the set of an HGTV show. Basically, it was awesome. And the best part? You can totally have such an afternoon yourself— no TV teleportation required.

Each home was more beautiful than the last, but the above was my absolute favourite. It was actually the grand prize home and boasted a glass stairwell that may as well have been an art installation it was so beautiful, insane furnishings (if you win one of the homes, you get to keep everything inside it) and an incredible space for entertaining on the top floor, complete with a rooftop patio. In a word, it was dreamy, and Full House Lottery really outdid themselves with this year's crop of dream homes. I'm sure that has something to do with the fact that this year marks their 25th anniversary, but I prefer to equate them with a fine wine that just gets better over time... oh, and speaking of wine, one of the homes boasted a 600-bottle wine cellar in it's basement (which also housed a dedicated crafting room, thank-you-very-much), so come to think of it, maybe that one would be my top pick if I won... talk about a Sophie's choice.

Plant wall— check; coffee in hand— check; delusions of actually living in one of these stunning homes— check.

If you're not familiar with FHL, here's the 411: There are $5.2 million in prizes to be won this year, including three dream homes, vehicles, luxury trips, and the early bird prize, consisting of a downtown condo and swanky BMW i8 (valued at over $600,000!). Tickets are $100 each, and you're going to want to buy yours by May 10th if you want to qualify for that early bird prize, otherwise you have until June 7th to get in the action. Proceeds go to the Royal Alexandra Hospital and University Hospital Foundations, for which over $77 million has already been raised by the Full House Lottery to date (!!!) That's a staggering figure for an amazing cause, so if you have an extra hundo to spare, consider buying a ticket— who knows, you could win big!

The dream homes (1134 Wahl Place, Windermereare available for visitors to explore seven days a week, and are open Monday to Friday from 1pm—8pm, and 10am—5:30pm on weekends and holidays. So what are you waiting for? Grab a couple besties of your own and get in on the fun.
