Gloss TIP: your gloss will fade, so make sure your clients know that. Be transparent. And send them home with pH balanced wash (like our fave @hairstorystudio), make sure they don’t use high pH for at least 24 hours, and set them up for refresher appts in salon if there’s a tone they want to maintain. I’ve cold water and don’t use hairspray in the salon after a color service!! . . Babylights TIP: you do not need to go with a high developer on these babies! When you are taking a fine weave, the lightener lifts fast. Hair will be healthier by doing this and no secret sauce is needed for protection. Not in this case anyway. Remember, every service is custom to the client in your chair. Don’t say “every client” because all clients aren’t the same. Thanks for the reality check @brendolah and @coastlineedu I’ve had a lot of people ask me about learning more on pH, theory, and more about these tips I post, check out coastline to get all the knowledge. To me, one of the most difficult things to do is to figure out what I really want. I never seem to be certain about what that really is for me. Instead I go back and forth, questioning my decisions, trying to keep up with the ever changing nature of my desires. __ I think a large part of this stems from my upbringing; moving from place to place, constantly changing my atmosphere and experiences, meeting new people all the time… Yet I knew it was all temporary. So a part of me would constantly be looking forward to what is coming next and not really be appreciative of what I already had. I was continuously seeking something more, and I was reminiscing on what I once had and what I once was. __ Looking back on all those places, those people, those experiences feels like completely different lives. I had different desires, goals, and even personalities for them all. It's almost as if someone else entirely lived those experiences, yet I somehow have the memories. Now I am faced with the acceptance of where I am and what I have. I don't have that constant relocation to depend on. I can't just move when things get tough. I can't just ride out the lows knowing something new and exciting is around the corner. I have to live in the present, determine what it truly is that I want for myself, and find a way to obtain it. Figuring out the root of my desires is something that I have always been unsure of. But now there is nowhere else to go. It's simply something I must do to truly understand who I am and what I want for myself.
