Starbucks Sends a Letter to Weedbukx to Change Its Logo

It seems that Starbucks has come across another business who wants to cash in on the popularity of the former’s name. We are talking about Weedbukx, a marijuana theme eatery that is based in New Jersey. Weedbukx opened its door for business last month in April and since then it has managed to grab the attention of this coffee giant.

Not only does the name Weedbukx sound similar to Starbucks, but its Logo also bears a striking resemblance to the iconic Starbucks logo.

The name and the logo immediately caught the attention of the giant and immediately got in touch with Ed Forchion via his personal Facebook page. Posting a letter on his page, Starbucks asked Forchion to change the sign claiming Weedbuks to be “problematic”.

Reggie Borges, Starbucks spokesman told NJ.com, “Our preference is to resolve trademark disputes amicably whenever possible, but will take appropriate steps to protect the strengths of our marks if needed.”

However, Forchion is currently serving time at the Mercer County Jail, which left his business partner and girlfriend Debi Madaio to post on his behalf, who wrote that the sign had been moved inside the store.
