Today is National Peanut Butter Day! Oh yes, we do love some peanut butter, so of course we have to put a spotlight on this day and bring you some of the yummiest recipes that we love from around the web and our own kitchens!
Did you know that peanut butter was first made around 1000 BC? But it wasn’t until the late 1800’s that it became widely used and enjoyed as one of the best foods ever invented! We have four men to thank for their contributions in refining peanut butter and inventing the creamy version that we all love today, including the famous Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, the famous cereal maker. But of the four, John Rosefield invented the process for making it smooth and licensed his patent to the company that created Peter Pan peanut butter. John later began producing his own peanut butter under the brand name Skippy.
So now that we have a quick history lesson out of the way, let’s get down to our favorite peanut butter recipes!
