Almond Chocolate Marble Cake

Diwali Card Parties are great, a room full of serious players  (sometimes drunk players) makes so many hilarious festive memories. I don’t actively participate (don’t know how to play cards) but I always enjoy being a part of a one.

Food is my area you see. According to me, a card party should have only munching, + drinks an elaborated food buffet does not make sense.

The almond chocolate marble Cake is a wonderful thing to take along if you decide to go for a potluck card party. One dish/snack/dessert on each guest and the host does not have to worry any more.

This cake turns out fab, try it if you are puzzled about what to take along. I have been getting many calls, from friends asking ideas about snacks, of dishes for Diwali party.

Almond Chocolate Marble Cake, is one of the easiest recipes. The cake looks amazing and does not require any frosting or decors.

I used a Bundt Cake Pan to bake my marble cake today. If you don’t have a bundt cake pan, Nordic Ware Original Platinum Collection Bundt Pan, Goldgo for a regular round cake pan. Marble effect makes it looks wonderful anyways. The texture and the taste is a thing you will never go wrong with my recipe.

My almond chocolate marble cake has all-purpose flour as well as almond flour.

To make almond flour at home

Place almonds, about 1/4 cup at a time, in the food processor. Pulse until you reach a flour-like consistency; sift into a container. Place any remaining almonds chunks back into food processor and pulse. Repeat until all almonds are transformed into flour.Urban Platter Fine Almond Flour, 200g

Also added a few drops of Ossoro Real almond flavour Ossoro Real Almond Flavour, 30 ml [Pack of 2]in my cake batter. The almond became a prominent flavour in my cake. In combination with chocolate, almonds play a fantastic role. Making it more festive, and everyone loved it.

The recipe is easy, go through these points, before you go ahead and bake the cake.

1. Make sure, you preheat the oven at least for 10- 15 minutes.

2. If using a bundt cake pan, butter and dust some flour on the inside of the bundt pan very well. Cover all the folds and corners inside of the cake tin religiously. If using a regular cake pan, line the inside of the cake pan with parchment paper.

3. Make sure the butter and the eggs are at room temperature. The ingredients incorporate well and its easier to whisk.

4. Measure all the ingredients accurately.

5. Just follow the recipe and enjoy baking and indulging.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour

3/4th cup of almond flour
Urban Platter Fine Almond Flour, 200g

1 1/2  teaspoons of baking powder

1/4th teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon of salt

170 gm of butter (room temperature)

1 1/4th cup of sugar

3 eggs (room temperature)

1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract

7-8 drops of Ossoro pure almond flavour

Ossoro Real Almond Flavour, 30 ml [Pack of 2]

1/3rd cup of plain yoghurt

1/2 cup of milk

100 gm of bittersweet or semisweet chocolate (chopped, melted)

Method

Preheat oven to 350* F (180* C). Butter, or spray with a non-stick spray, a 10-inch bundt cake pan. Sprinkle some flour over the butter layer and sake to cover the sides and the bottom of the bundt cake panNordic Ware Original Platinum Collection Bundt Pan, Gold. Dust off if the excess flour left. Keep the prepared baking pan aside.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a bowl beat the butter using a hand mixer until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes). Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract, and yoghurt.

Alternately add the prepared flour mix and the milk to the batter, in three additions, beginning and ending with the flour.

Divide the batter into two separate bowls.  Stir in melted chocolate to half of the cake batter. Add Ossoro real almond flavour to the remaining half.

Then just fill your prepared bundt cake pans with alternating spoonfuls of each, and gently draw swirls through the batter to marbleize it. Don’t over mix.

Bake for about 35 – 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre just comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for about 20 minutes before removing the cake from the pan to cool completely. Can dust the top of the cake with cocoa powder or powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
