Looking for a great chicken crockpot recipe? Try our Drunken Chicken Stew. This is a wonderful recipe that pairs with Red Rose, White wines. Red wines include: Barbera, Beaujolais, Carmenere, Chianti, Red Burgundy and Sangiovese. White Wines include: Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, Pinot Gris, Riesling Dry, Riesling Off-Dry and Viognier. Rose. Enjoy! #chicken #crockpot @chefvivant
- 1each chickencut into pieces
- 3each baconslices
- 3each white onionsthicly sliced
- 3each carrotsthickly sliced
- 1/4cup parsleychopped
- 1`each thyme sprig
- 12each peppercorns
- 1/2clove garlicecrushed
- 1 1/4cups white wine
- Soak the chicken in salted water for 1 hour. Drain well.
- Cut bacon into large pieces and combine with all other ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours or overnight. Remove thyme sprig and serve on a bed of cooked rice, garnished with extra parsley.
Note: Rabbit is also delicious prepared in this way.
