Review: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

This Book greets its reader with an explosively colorful cover, and the interior is just as bold and beautiful.

In Big Magic, Gilbert shares her experiences, thoughts, and musings about creativity and the process by which art is made. Big Magic encourages its readers to go out there into the big, scary world and create, if only because we are given this one life to live spectacularly.

Perhaps Big Magic was not the most fitting title for this book, and perhaps it reads just a little too much like a self-help book, but it is nevertheless inspiring and transformatory. I would recommend it to any artist, writer, poet, or dreamer who is having trouble overcoming their fear of creating or who simply needs a gentle push.
