Salt Lake City Metro Report: August 2018

The Zumper Salt Lake City Metro Report analyzed active listings in July across 12 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the Fastest Growing rents. The Utah state median one bedroom Rent was $896 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

–South Jordan, UT outpaced Sandy to become the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,100.

–Sandy, UT fell to second with rent falling $10 to $1,090.

–Salt Lake City, UT remained third with rent at $1,040.

The Least Expensive

–South Salt Lake, UT saw rent drop $10 to $810 and continue to rank as the most affordable in the metro.

–West Valley City, UT fell one spot to rank as the second least expensive city with rent decreasing $20 to $850.

–Millcreek, UT moved up to third with rent at $880.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Salt Lake City, UT had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 15.6%.

–Sandy, UT was second with rent climbing 14.7%.

–Murray, UT rent had the third largest year over year growth rate, jumping 13.3%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–South Jordan & Millcreek, UT tied for the city with the fastest growing rent last month, both up 4.8%.
