Salt Lake City Metro Report: January 2018

The Zumper Salt Lake City Metro Report analyzed active listings in December across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the Fastest Growing rents. The Utah state median Rent was $862 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

–Sandy, UT rent grew $50 to $1,050 and outpaced Midvale’s to become the most expensive in the metro.

–Midvale, UT fell behind Sandy and became the second priciest city with one bedrooms priced at $1,000.

–South Jordan, UT remained third with rent at $990.

The Least Expensive

– South Salt Lake, UT was the most affordable city in the metro with rent at $770.

–Millcreek, UT rent, though growing $40 to $820, remained the second least expensive in the metro.

–West Valley City, UT ranked as third with rent at $850.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Salt Lake City, UT had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 14%.

–Taylorsville, UT ranked as second with rent climbing 12.8%.

–South Salt Lake, UT rent had the third largest yearly growth rate, increasing 11.6%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Millcreek, UT saw rent climb 5.1% last month, making it the fastest growing.

–Sandy, UT was second with rent up 5%.

–West Valley City, UT rent followed closely behind as third with a 4.9% monthly growth rate.
