When choosing fresh flowers for a loved one who is under the weather or in hospital, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, sending flowers to a hospital can be tricky if you don’t have all the information. It’s important to ask the hospital about sending flowers to the particular ward where the recipient is recovering or being treated. Some wards, like ICU, do not allow things like flowers due to the risk of infection. Sometimes patients are moved from one room to another which is why it’s also important to confirm their location before ordering flowers. If possible, have the flowers sent to you instead so that you can deliver them in person. Not only will the flowers make them smile, but so too will your visit.

Another important point to keep in mind is the type of flowers to send. You want to send a bouquet that is bright and colourful. In other words, lots of warm colours to brighten the mood in the room. Avoid a plain white and green bouquet since it can have the opposite effect. White flowers are lovely but, when you are trying to help somebody perk up, colours are essential.

Choose flowers that are abundant in beauty and the kinds that encourage staring. Flowers with undeniable beauty include sunflowers, peonies, daisies, roses, and lilies. Pay attention to blooms that are in season and take note of any possible allergies to pollen. Flowers with heavy pollen or pollen that can be removed by the florist are ideal. This way they will not make a mess on the table and you don’t have to worry about your sick friend or loved one sneezing out of control.

If your friend has a longer road to recover, why not send them a potted plant? Even if they cannot tend to the plant every day, they might have somebody who can. Alternatively, buy a succulent in a pot. These plants don’t require much care or water which means that they are lovely to look at without requiring too much attention.
