New Delhi: Hajj pilgrimage to Makah is on the day before the beginning of Eid ul-Adha, a Muslim festival celebration commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s, (alaihis salam) devotion to Allah. Hajj Pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Every year more than a Million of Muslims from the world gather every year to perform Hajj. In 2017 1.7 millions of Muslims from across the globe gathered to perform Hajj.

Hajj begins on the eighth day of the 12th Islamic month, called Dhu al-Hijjah, and lasts for five days.

On the tenth day of the Islamic calendar (the second of Hajj), the holy festival of Eid al-Adha is celebrated.

This year Hajj will run from Sunday, August 19 till Friday, August 24.
