A white Christmas here in Hawaii typically features not snow but the seafoam off of our famous winter swells. So if you are looking for a change of scenery while still taking part in Holiday traditions, then a Maui vacation is exactly what you are looking for! Kahana Village offers an island home away from home where merry memories can easily be made, but if you are looking for a festive adventure then we recommend making your way to the countryside.
Lush, tall pine trees combined with the chilly Upcountry Maui air make Ulupalakua the perfect place to bundle up and celebrate the holiday season. This December 9th, you are invited to celebrate this special time with family and friends at the 4th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on the beautiful grounds of Maui Wine. Simply wander just a few miles from the Alii Kula Lavender Farm, to the Ulupalakua Ranch around 4:30 pm for a memorable evening of exciting activities. Festivities include:
- Lighting of a decorated 20-foot Monterey pine tree courtesy of the Kula Botanical Gardens
- Live music entertainment from the Haiku Hillbilly’s
- Holiday Movie Screening
- Special Guest Appearance from Santa Claus
- Keiki Crafts
- Holiday Beverages and comfort food available for purchase
The actual tree lighting will kick off at 6:15 pm and an outdoor screening of The Grinch will follow, so be sure to pack your blankets and lawn chairs to comfortably watch under the stars! Admission is free, but it is requested that attendees bring cans of nonperishable good as a donation to the Maui Food Bank. And for those of you 21+ looking for an exclusive experience in addition to the festivities, Wine Garden tickets are available for an estate tasting. For $20 per person and $10 for wine club members, guests will gain special access to the Old Jail Yard as well as five wine tastings chosen by the winemaker.
