Food Avenue: Ka Lui (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)

Last Summer 2011, I went to Puerto Princesa with my brother and my mother for a PAPTELCO meeting. Since I read my friend's tweet earlier that he's going to Palawan, I suddenly missed the place especially the food there. Hihi :"> And one of the few things that I will never forget about Puerto Princesa is the FOOD and Ka Lui is definitely a must-try there.

This is where we ate on our first night in Puerto Princesa. It's usually packed with tourists and it's recommended to have a reservation before going here. Luckily for us, even though we didn't have a reservation that time, we were still able to get a table right away. :)

I love how cozy the place is! And if you eat inside, you'd have to go barefoot!

I ordered a Tuna Steak Plate and it's served with talong. I never really like talong (I eat it occasionally though) but I fell in love with this dish! It's the best talong dish I've ever had! They also served us complimentary soup and dessert (fruits topped with muscovado sugar).

KaLui looked really small and simple on the outside but when I got inside, I never expected that the place looked so beautiful and cozy. I can't help but think that it's a Pinoy version of Gabby's Bistro. I think they only serve seafood and vegetables there but even if you're a meat lover, you'll definitely enjoy the food here. :)
