In honor of National Nurses Week (May 6-12), we are taking a moment to celebrate our incredible Sunrise nurses for the exemplary care that they provide to their residents and community. Juanita Roseboro, is one of these amazing nurses, and she was nominated by fellow team members for her caring nature and compassion that she brings each and every day. 

"Juanita is the anchor of the Wellness Office” – Susan Maupin, Executive Director, Sunrise of Silver Spring, MD

A part of the Sunrise family for the past nine years, Juanita has been with the team at Sunrise of Silver Spring, MD, for the past three. She is known for stepping up in any situation, no matter how difficult, and handling it with complete confidence until completion. Her fellow team members describe her as detail oriented, knowledgeable and dependable. Juanita is a huge advocate for her residents, making sure that they are getting whatever they need, when they need it. Lighting up any room that she walks into, she is beloved by her residents and her team members for all that she does. Juanita wears many hats and continues to grow, lead, and remain an irreplaceable part of the team. Here's what Juanita has to say about her role as a nurse at Sunrise: 

“Being a nurse at Sunrise brings me great joy and happiness. I look forward to coming to work and seeing how I can add a smile to our resident’s faces. Often times all they want is for someone to listen to them and give them a smile. A smile goes a long way. When this is done on a daily basis they know that I care and want to help them. It also helps them maintain control of their lives knowing that they have someone they can trust. I always allow them time to express their feelings and know that if there is something I can do I will do it for them. It not only reassures them that someone is listening to them but also makes me feel good to know I am able to bring them some happiness at least for the day.”
